  • The smartphone comes with a teleconverter with up to 17.4x optical output.

Update: Vivo X300 FE is also tipped to launch the same day as the Vivo X300 Ultra, which is on May 7th. It looks like Vivo is bringing its compact and top-end camera phone to India early next month.

Original story follows

Vivo’s most premium phone to date, the X300 Ultra, is reportedly arriving in India in early May. The Vivo X300 Ultra launched in China last month as the world’s first smartphone with dual 200MP cameras —one for the main sensor and the other for periscope telephoto. Like the previous Ultra models, the Vivo X300 Ultra also comes with a dedicated teleconverter that is capable of up to 17.4x optical output. The Vivo X300 Ultra launch in India would mark the debut of an ‘Ultra’ model from Vivo in the country. This is Vivo’s most premium and top-end smartphone vying for the ultimate camera phone experience.

Vivo X300 Ultra India launch date (expected)

The Vivo X300 Ultra is launching in India on May 7th, according to a report by Smartprix, citing tipster Yogesh Brar as the sourceAfter its launch, the Vivo X300 Ultra is reportedly going on sale in India starting May 14th. Vivo has yet to officially tease the X300 Ultra in India, but with less than a month to go, we might start to see some details soon.

Vivo X300 Ultra specifications

The Vivo X300 Ultra stands out for its camera specs, which include a 200MP main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.7x optical zoom, and up to 105x digital zoom. The teleconverter adds up to 17.4x optical zoom, making it one of the best phone camera setups for long-range photography. The handset also comes with a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP front camera for selfies.

Not just cameras, the Vivo X300 Ultra also packs a large 7,000mAh battery, which should easily last for more than a day even on heavy usage. The smartphone features a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED 2K display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The big screen makes the phone apt for content consumption, and the high refresh rate for gaming. Under the hood of the phone runs the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, ensuring top-tier performance.

In terms of design, the Vivo X300 Ultra continues with a circular camera island and a flat-edged frame. It comes in Film Green, Silver Tone, and Black colours. In China, the X300 Ultra starts at CNY 6,999, which translates to around Rs 95,700. Pricing would be understandably different when the Vivo X300 Ultra launches in India. Even the Vivo X300 Pro is priced at Rs 1,09,999, so we can expect the Ultra model to cost much higher.

Although there’s no confirmation yet, the Vivo X300 Ultra, if it does end up launching in India, would definitely be a top pick for cameras. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is already available here, and OPPO is also highly speculated to bring the Find X9 Ultra here as well. So, Vivo launching the X300 Ultra is quite likely.

The smartphone would be highly recommended for photography enthusiasts who want the most out of a smartphone camera and are willing to spend. It would still be wise to wait for official pricing and reviews before making a decision.
