Exclusive: Vivo Y51 Pro to launch in India soon; design and key specs revealed

Highlights
  • Vivo Y51 Pro India launch might take place as early as this week.
  • It will be powered by the new Dimensity 7360-Turbo SoC.
  • The smartphone is also tipped to cost under Rs 25,000 in India.

Vivo recently launched the V70 series in India, and it’s now planning to introduce a new Y-series smartphone. It’s the Vivo Y51 Pro, which recently appeared on the BIS website and has already received Bluetooth SIG certification. Although there’s no official confirmation yet, 91mobiles has received exclusive details about the Vivo Y51 Pro’s India launch, courtesy of tipster Sanju Choudhary. This includes promotional material revealing the design and key specifications of the upcoming Vivo phone. Vivo’s Y-series caters to the mid-range segment, offering options with a stylish design and reliable hardware as well.

Vivo Y51 Pro will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo, a new chipset announced in late 2025. The chipset is designed for gaming and better power efficiency, so you should get smooth performance from the Y51 Pro. The smartphone is also tipped to get a large 7,200mAh battery, which should easily last a day or more. The leaked image also reveals a 50MP AI wide camera with 4K video recording. It’s a dual-camera setup on the Y51 Pro.

The smartphone will launch with OriginOS 6, based on Android 16. Its software support details haven’t been revealed yet. The Vivo Y51 Pro is also getting IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Since it’s a Y-series smartphone, it will most likely fall in the mid-range category. According to the tipster, the Vivo Y51 Pro will launch under Rs 25,000 in India. It’s not confirmed if this is the final price or with offers. Speaking of which, the Y51 Pro will be available with an instant cashback of Rs 2,500. While the specs do seem convincing, pricing will be key here, especially with the rising costs in the smartphone industry. If Vivo does manage to keep the Y51 Pro’s price competitive, then it might have an edge over rivals.

In terms of design, the Vivo Y51 Pro looks similar to the V70 series, especially with the striking red colour, flat edges, and LED ring. The smartphone will most likely launch in one more colour.

The Vivo Y51 Pro will succeed last year’s Y31 Pro, and the upgrades confirmed so far are the chipset and battery capacity. Based on the details we know so far, the Vivo Y51 Pro can be recommended for those who want a budget-friendly mid-range phone with a stylish design, large battery, and reliable performance. It would still be advised to wait for official details and reviews to see if the Vivo Y51 Pro is worth the price or not, and how it compares with rivals. As for those considering upgrading from the Y31 Pro, it would make sense if you prioritise gaming performance, as the new chipset might offer a significant leap.
