The power of AI in Intel® Evo™ Edition Powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra laptops

So before we talk about all the features of these Intel® Evo™ Edition laptops, it would be a good idea to know more about the new processors. For starters, these processors are specifically designed to handle AI-based tasks. AI is the future of computing and is poised to change the way we interact with our PCs. This is made possible by the NPU (Neural Processing Unit) that works in tandem with the CPU and GPU to make several AI-based tasks possible without too much load on the processor. Intel® calls it Intel® AI Boost and notes that this allows new Core™ Ultra Processors to offer 2.5x better power efficiency as compared to the previous generation.

The new processors can offer up to 16 cores and 22 threads of performance. This is then divided between Performance Cores (P-Cores), Efficiency Cores (E-Cores) and Low-Power Efficiency Cores (LP E-Cores). This is an evolution of the Performance Hybrid Architecture that Intel® uses and ensures that users not only get the performance they need but also impressively long battery lives. They may also include an Intel® Arc GPU for graphics.

With these processors, users have multiple options when looking for laptops as they allow for a whole host of features. AI is set to impact almost all aspects of our lives. For example, the text-to-image feature in software like Blender or GIMP uses AI to create images with just a short text description. If that wasn’t cool enough, video and photo editors will be able to use software such as Adobe Lightroom or OBS Studio to use AU for faster, more natural-looking filters along with speedier export times. With features like text-to-music and music separation in software like Audacity, anyone will be able to create music. Professionals can make use of better video conferencing abilities when using Windows Studio Effects with features such as Smart Scene Framing, Eye Gaze Correction, Low Power Background Blur and more. Users can also experience better personal assistance through software such as Rewind. Gamers can make use of Intel® XeSS which uses AI to upscale videos for even greater fidelity.

That’s not all. AI can also help out with everyday things such as writing, coding, text prediction and grammar check. The new PCs will also offer improved security and privacy by keeping a lookout for any indicators of an attack and automatically moving to start protecting local data. It could also improve security scans for better protection against a range of real-time threats. AI can also make things much easier for people with disabilities through features such as AI-assisted audio-visual capabilities and diverse needs.
