Verdict

Lenovo has again proved itself as a potential laptop manufacturer with this Ideapad notebook by offering quality, performance and power in same machine. Furthermore, it is very affordable. 

Standard budget laptop with powerful processor

Display and Design

The Lenovo Ideapad B490 (59-382575) is a 14-inch LED backlit display laptop with 1,366 x 768 pixels resolution. It is a normal sized laptop coming in classic full black coloured body and possess standard keyboard and touchpad for the typing and pointing. 

Processor and Platform

The 14-incher operates on dual-core Intel Pentium third generation 2020M processor with a good speed of 2.4GHz for running multiple tasks at same time. The processor chipset is Intel HM70 express chipset. The onboard memory (RAM) is only 2GB. Even though there is no dedicated graphics, it still has basic Intel HD graphics processor.

The Ideapad laptop is provided with no separate operating system but still contains free disk operating system (DOS) which makes it open for any OS of your choice. 

Camera, Storage and Entertainment

The Lenovo Ideapad B490 (59-382575) (Pentium 3rd Gen/2 GB/500 GB/DOS) notebook  sports a digital webcam for internet video calling and also to take some good webcam photos and videos. The physical storage is in the form of SATA hard disk drive (HDD) and can pack up to 500GB of data. The audio devices include stereotype speakers and built-in microphone; it also comes with dedicated headphone and microphone jacks. For the disk data transferring in to CDs and DVDs, it homes a DVD SuperMulti Drive.

Connectivity and Battery

This Ideapad device contains Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps port, Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n, USB ports, Bluetooth , HDMI port, VGA port, digital media reader for the connectivity and networking needs. The Lithium ion battery can withstand just over 3 hours on heavy usages.
