Flipkart Service:nOrdered this Tab on 11th received it on 17thnOutter Box was crumpled but the Inner Box was intactnJust a single fold of bubble wrap, you wrap a MicroSD Card multiple times but not a 17000/- Rs. product?nI was notified (made aware) about of the Delivery 2 days after the Actual DeliverynAs a product launch offer I was given a Sennheiser HD 202 II headset for freenThe product failed the authenticity check on the Sennheiser website! Flipkart WTF!nThey are just average (or duplicate) and you aren't missing much without the offernI have heard lots of praises for Flipkart but I was completely disappointed so thumbs down to FlipkartnI am reducing one star because of Flipkartn nAbout the Tab (S8-50LC)n nPros:nIts compact, slim, lightweight and has appropriate bezel sizenI like the finish on the back, the tablet looks great and doesn't feel cheapnDisplay is good, crisp, bright and vivid but little low on contrastnStereo Speakers are loud but lack depthnCameras are good enough for a tabletnThe Intel Processor and GPU are very capablen2 GB RAMnUSB OTG Supportn3G/4G + CallingnMinimal BloatwarenInbuilt app called Security HD is good with essential features like Permission ManagernInbuilt Video Player has Pop Up playback supportnBrowsing is fast and smoothnAndroid 4.4.2 and apps are themed to mimic iOS (also no app drawer but its all fixable) some may like it some may not but it looks modern and freshnIn app performance is great but it stutters while switching between apps during multitasking and while in the default launcher. Lenovo is to blame here because hardware is goodnRoot is available for the Tab at XDAnIts seems to be USB 3.0nMinimum packaging, no headphones included. Doesn't bother me as all boxed headphones are of poor quality. nnCons:nBiggest drawback of this Tab is the Battery Life! I guess this is the price you pay to have a thin and light tablet. No app or software update is going to help because it has only 4290mAH battery and the main cause of battery drain is a hardware i.e. the Screen.nWith light usage you may need to charge it once every daynLimited Colour Gamut. Screen doesn't have full sRGB coverage. The colours are not accurate. May bother someone like Photographers. Nexus 7 2013 has 100% sRGB coverage and more accurate coloursnScreen has a Yellowish CastnScreen has a Grey Dots Pattern which can be annoying (they stand out on black backgrounds)nScreen is very ReflectivenNo Gorilla GlassnNo Screen Protectors and Cases availablenNo Auto BrightnessnBoxed USB cable is short in length and has a very tight fit, almost damaging the USB connector. So I am using another USB cablenNo MultiWindow mode provided like the one in Yoga Tablets despite having the same hardwarenNo MagnetometernMicroSIM slot has very low tolerance hence if you have cut your SIM at home (or haven't cut/punched it appropriately) then it will get stuck in the Tablet! Had to buy a new SIM because of itnInbuilt Music Player is bad better get something like PowerampnAudio Quality is poor (Xperia L sounds better). Dolby is just a software gimmick. The DAC in it is cheap. Can't expect much at this price.nx86 Compatibility issues. Like some Xposed modules don't work and some may cause boot loop.nMinimal Developer Support. Questionable future Android Updates. No ROMs nnConclusion:nAll in all its a good tablet for the price you pay. If you really want an 8 inch tablet then this tablet is the best (Sony Z3 Compact Tablet is better but way more costlier)nOtherwise Nexus 7 2013 is a better option at 7 inches
Update 2 : 05-02-15 (After 2 month of usage)nUpdate 1 : 12-12-14 (After hours of usage)n=======================nDelivery: Opted for standard delivery and received the tab in less than 36 hours. nnPacking: As usual great nnPackage content: Confused here as Flipkart has mentioned earphones which is not part of the package, not printed on the box either. But I got FREE Sennheiser HD 202 II headphones as launch offer. nnOne more thing that is not mentioned anywhere is the tab stand comes in the box made of recycled paper. A decent stuff which can be used until you get a flip cover available in the market nnLooks: The size is less than half of an A4 size paper and weight is perfect. A beautiful piece (mine is ebony black). It has rubber feel on the edges that makes the grip firmer nnDisplay: Excellent!!! Super crisp, it comes with a default brightness around 50% which is pretty high which I reduced to ~30% which is enough for night viewing. nGreat customization (part of Kitkat). There are some finger marks visible on the screen. Brightness control does not have auto mode (I couldn't find) which means you need to keep adjusting it manually for your needs.Visibility in sun is good but screen reflects too much, may need a matt finish screen guardnnCamera: Great!!! No pixilation with 100% zoom. One of the best cameras in tabs. Secondary camera is not that great but good for video call if there is enough light in the room. nnSound: Awesome!!! Good speakers, Lenovo claim the sound has dolby effect, but I did not feel anything great about it. Radio too is good, with my blackberry in-earphones nice thump and treble. I tested the Sennheiser headset (bundled), they are good but nothing to boast about. nnSpeed/Performance: No lags whatsoever. Tab gets heated up, extremely while playing game. Call clarity is good. But with my mobile hotspot I used internet which is quite fast and browser (chrome) was quite responsive. nnBattery: Takes ages to charge, Max 2 hours if you play heavy games like RR3, Asphalt. Idle about 2 days. With mediocre usage with mix of 3G and voice you get a day. nnApps: come with great preloaded apps like shareit, cloneit, textr etc. Most of the required apps are available but many of them are not optimized for tabs.nnConnectivity: Have 2G/3G (works well), wifi (good speed, I could download 7mb in a minute), I could not experience 4G yet, inspite of having a 4G subscription. Bluetooth is fast and does support OTG (no lag in playing audio video, but experienced the storage getting ejected automatically couple of times which playing songs) nnCase and Screenguard: Got nice sleek case from bay for Rs.599/- and screen guard of a larger size cut and fixed from a local shop for Rs.200/-nnReliability: Don’t know, my fully charged tab suddenly stopped working one night and started working after 3days after raising a request for return.nnVerdict: Tab is good for person who don’t play games on tab. ?, but battery in comparison is below par
