With inexpensive phablets in the market, tablet sales are declining. Yet LG is not ready to give up on this once major product category which is clearly indicated by the launch of LG G Pad III 8.0 LTE. It is an incredibly powerful tablet with a good display and amazing configuration. It is advertised as both a tablet and an eReader making it a good option for avid book readers.

Design and Display

The LG G Pad III 8.0 LTE offers an 8-inch large TFT display having full HD resolution and retaining pixel density of 283ppi. Its elegant display provides great experience while reading, browsing and watching videos. The display also comes with Zero Gap tech that reduces screen reflection. The tablet is available in a black coloured body that weighs around 309grams.

Platform and Configuration

The device comes with Android v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) operating system out of the box with LG’s own UX UI on top. Under the hood, the device is armed with a 1.5GHz octa-core processor, backed by 2GB of RAM. These hardwares grant this tablet an incredible performance power. The tablet contains 16GB space of inbuilt storage and also features an expansion slot that can support microSD card of up to 2TB.

Camera and Reading

For photography, the LG G Pad III 8.0 LTE is equipped with back as well as a front facing camera, both of them have 5MP of resolution. It is a great device for reading e-books with dedicated button on the side that enables reading mode. This mode reduces blue light from the screen, making it easier to read in bed at night.

Connectivity and Battery

Connectivity options that are supported by this tablet include voice calling, 4G, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n with hotspot tethering and microUSB 2.0. The device is fuelled by a 4,800mAh li-polymer battery which is non removable.
