The Microsoft Surface RT is here to reassure the capabilities of a tablet. The kickstand design and magnetic keyboard cum cover accessory are certainly a big plus. The interface does impress with innovative features but can turn out to be confusing. Overall, it's really productive despite of having some flaws.

Display and Design

The Microsoft Surface RT sports a 10.6-inch LCD multi touch display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels and a pixel density of 148ppi. Made up of scratch resistant glass, the display stays fresh for a long period of time.

The device measures just 9mm around the waist and has a weight of 680g. The bevelled design imparts a metallic industrial appeal and is made up of magnesium. One of the key highlights of the device is its kickstand design which is sturdy and makes everything easy. You can additionally buy a magnetic keyboard which can also act as a cover. The keyboard has the brains to understand when you are not using it and automatically turns the keys off.

Processor and OS

The slate is driven by a 1.3GHz Cortex A9 quad-core processor based on NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor. It is paired with 2GB RAM to ensure powerful computing experience. It ships with Windows RT OS which is nothing but an awkward version of Windows 8. It has an extremely interactive interface which brings a host of attractive services including gesture supported menu system, powerful search tool and versatile and cool split screen option.

Camera, Storage and Connectivity

The Microsoft Surface RT carries 1MP snappers on both panels has an internal memory of 32GB besides a microSD port. The Microsoft Surface RT can be connected through TV-Out, OTA Sync, Bluetooth v4.0, WLAN, HDMI out and USB 2.0 port.
