Nokia Asha 500 sports a 2.8-Inch capacitive touch screen with 2-point multi touch. The display has a resolution of 240x320 pixels and a density of 143 ppi. It runs on refreshed Nokia Asha software platform 1.1.1 which has been updated to make your more social. The new user interface enables the user to access camera directly with a swipe and share the images socially with a touch. The Fastlane feature lets you personalize the second home screen with your favorite content. Nokia has also loaded the device with Nokia Xpress browser which enables you to browse faster and save data consumption.
Packed in vibrant bold-colored cases, Nokia Asha 500 is further encased in a crystal clear shell which makes the device look more stylish and unique.
Configuration, storage and camera
Nokia Asha 500 has been empowered by a 64MB RAM. The inbuilt storage could be expanded up to 32GB with the help of Micro SD card slot ensuring you don’t run out of space while storing your favorite music and videos.
Photography needs could be fulfilled by 2MP camera studded at the back. Since the camera is fixed focus and lacks flash, it’s good for casual photography only.
Connectivity and battery
On the connectivity front, Nokia Asha 500 features GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroUSB etc. Navigation needs are taken care by Nokia Nearby application which works on cellular and Wi-Fi network positioning technology.
It houses a 1200 mAH BL-4U battery and promises a 35 days of standby time on a single charge.
Nokia Asha 500 targets consumers who need a smartphone in a budget. Asha user interface is resource effective software and is gradually emerging as a good operating system. The device is stylish and keeps you socially active, hence is recommended for youths. However, if camera is your thing, consider Nokia Asha 502 or Asha 503 instead.
