A worthy flagship from the house of Sony
Design and Configuration
The eagerly awaited Sony Xperia Z1 sports an elegant frame, retaining the Xperia design. The large 5-inch display offers full HD resolution and is scratch-resistant too. Sony has brought its Bravia Engine from its TV range to this phone, to improve the viewing experience.
Performance is assured by the 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon chipset, paired with 2GB RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU for gaming performance.
Camera and Storage
The Xperia Z1's rear camera is the highlight of the device, which at 20.7MP is the highest among Android smartphones. It also offers a Sony EXMOR sensor and 1080p video recording. Up front there is a 2MP camera for video calls.
Storage is not a concern with 16GB of internal space, expandable by another 64GB using a microSD card.
Connectivity and Battery
The Sony Xperia Z1 comes with all the major connectivity options, like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS (with A-GPS) and microUSB. The Z1 draws power from a 3000mAh Li-ion battery.
Like its predecessor, Sony Xperia Z1 is both dust and waterproof, and can survive under 1.5 feet of water for 30 minutes, enabling underwater photography.
With the Xperia Z1, Sony has combined its expertise in cameras and TVs, to bring Bravia technology to the display and an EXMOR RS to the camera. It's water and dust-proof abilities and 20.7MP camera make it a worthy flagship.
Now, Sony is all set to launch its successor dubbed as Sony Xperia Z2 featuring fast processor, larger display and long battery life than Z1.

Beyond the camera augmentations, very little has changed in Sony’s Xperia software. Once you unlock the phone through the familiar window blinds animation, you’re met with a richly customizable set of homescreens, a wide variety of available widgets, and a typical set of app tray and notifications options. A customizable set of quick toggles in the notifications tray puts your most common settings within easy reach and the multitasking menu l...
Pros: The prettiest waterproof phone around Has the sensor of a point-and-shoot camera Snappy performance
Cons: Display is a clear step behind the competition Ergonomics leave room for improvement Software is not as up to date as the hardware
Previously going by the codename Honami, the Sony Xperia Z1 is the follow up to the waterproof Sony Xperia Z smartphone launched last year and is the big brother of the more recently released Xperia Z1 Compact.Hoping to provide some stiff competition for the iPhone 5S, the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, Sony is ramping up the camera credentials of the Xperia Z1 by adding a 20.7-megapixel camera sensor. Sony also announced the Wi-Fi and Bluet...
Pros: Dedicated camera button for underwater shooting, Curvy. more comfortable design, Speedy, overall performance,
Cons: Disappointing low-light camera performance, Average viewing angles, Flimsy latches protecting ports and connections,
Sony was the first of the big-name manufacturers to launch a new 2013 flagship smartphone back in March, with the Sony Xperia Z, a 5-inch model outwardly rather similar to the new Sony Xperia Z1. The Xperia Z beat the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 to market, offering a quad-core processor, 1080p display, 13 megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, and water and dust resistance. It was awesome. And still is, seeing as so little time has passed since it arriv...
Pros: Good battery life, Waterproof, Some clever Sony additions,
Cons: Loads of Sony bloatware, Disappointing indoor photos, Erratic screen technology,
Sony’s second flagship of 2013 – third if you count the Z Ultra gigantophone – is waterproof to 1.5m, making it ideal for a trip to the beach or a soak in the tub. Of course its predecessor, the Xperia Z, was similarly waterproof (although to just 1m), so what else is new? It’s less harsh in the hand, for a start, with curved corners and smooth lines replacing the odd dust-welcoming trench. It also has a bigger 3000mAh battery, meaning it...
Pros: One of the quickest Android phones on the planet Good battery life Waterproofing

Overall: I loved this phone for the first two months, I treated IT like my own first born child. The camera is excellent, no lag after kit kat update even, big diplay lets you view videos very well almost feel like watching on television. And then without me dropping it or mishandling it, the screen of my Z1 cracked, I was shocked. When I googled I saw blogs and Facebook pages devoted to the self cracking s....

Overall: I've had problems from the moment i bought this phone. Sony's authorized service centres do not care at all about their customers. When my phone got wet, the touch did not respond very efficiently (all flaps were tightly closed) the service centre refused to repair it and claimed that i need to get it replaced and i will be charged 20% less than MRP for a new Z1. I cant spend 32k again on this cra....
