Verdict

The Acer One S1001 (NT.MUPSI.003) is more of a tablet which can also be used as a laptop on attaching the keyboard deck. This is clearly evident from its configuration and screen size.

Display and Build

The Acer One S1001 (NT.MUPSI.003) flaunts a 10.1-inch HD IPS display which offers decent viewing experience from all angles with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. The multi touch panel lets you navigate files easily.

It is housed in a simple but good looking silver coloured outfit which measures 26mm around the waist and has a weight of just 1.2kg  so that you can easily tote around with it. It can be easily converted from the usual laptop mode into different modes by swivelling the screen. You can also undock the screen and use it as a tablet.

Processor and OS

On the inside, the Acer One S1001 (NT.MUPSI.003) is loaded with a 1.3GHz Intel Atom quad-core Z3735F processor. It is paired with a paltry 1GB RAM which is further expandable via the single DIMM slot. The integrated Intel HD GPU is capable of handling only simple games and videos. It ships with latest 64 bit Windows 8.1 OS which is specifically for touch enabled gadgets.

Camera, Storage and Multimedia

The laptop is armed with a 0.3MP webcam and inbuilt microphone for taking care of the video calling needs of the user. For storage purposes, there is a SATA hard disk of 500GB.  The dual stereo speakers provide rich multimedia experience.

Battery and Connectivity

The Acer One S1001 (NT.MUPSI.003) is fuelled by a sealed 6 cell Li-Po battery and can be connected via  WLAN, digital media reader, HDMI out, Bluetooth v4.0 and two USB 2.0 slots.
