Verdict

The iPad Mini gives users all the features of an iPad, at a more affordable price. If you're willing to compromise on screen size, there's no reason not to opt for it.

Affordable and compact
Display, OS and processor
The iPad Mini is the first iPad to feature a 7.9-inch display. It gets a resolution of 768 x 1024 pixels and an oleophobic coating for protection. Launched with iOS 6, it can be upgraded to iOS 7. The iPad Mini is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Apple A5 chip, assisted by 512MB RAM and PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics.

Camera and storage
It features a 5MP primary autofocus camera, with face detection, touch focus and geotagging, plus the ability to record full HD videos. In the front is a 1.2MP camera for FaceTime and HD video recording. The iPad Mini offers 32GB of non-expandable storage.

Connectivity
WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB 2.0 are offered for connectivity. The battery provides up to 10 hours of juice.
