The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BU is more of a tablet with a keyboard and comes at a similar price point as well. It's small and light and packs features which justify its price. It has been designed mainly for web based applications and impresses with its marathon battery.

Display and Outfit

The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BU carries a 10.1-inch LED backlit widescreen display with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels, which may not be stunning but is readable. It is wrapped in a glossy black coloured outfit which looks appealing but can get affected by scratches and fingerprints easily. It has a weight of just 1.2kg so that you can easily carry it around but can pose problems with its thickness of 36.5mm.

Processor and OS

Under the hood, the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BU is packed with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom dual-core N280 processor. It is paired with a 1GB DDR3 RAM which is further expandable up to 2GB via the single SODIMM slot. The integrated Intel HD GPU is capable of handling only simple games and videos. It runs on Windows XP Home Basic OS which is dated but can be useful for all purposes.

Camera, Storage and Multimedia

The notebook accounts for the video calling needs of the user with a 0.3MP webcam and digital array microphone. For storage purposes, there is 160GB SATA hard disk operating at 5,400rpm. It has stereo speakers to render HD Audio solution.

Battery and Connectivity

The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BU is fuelled by a 6 cell Li-ion battery which claims to render up to 10.5 hours of uninterrupted service, which is huge. On the connectivity front, it supports Ethernet port, Bluetooth v2.1, WLAN, digital media reader, three USB 2.0 slots and VGA port.
