Design and display
The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 features an 8-inch 2K (1,536 x 2,048 pixels) IPS display, enhanced by the company's proprietary VisualMaster and Tru2Life Plus technologies. The new Asus tablet is just 6.6mm thin and weighs 298 grams. It comes with metallic edges which makes the device look more premium than its predecessor. The display has been protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and Anti-fingerprint coating.
Configuration and UI
The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 gets processing power from a 2.3GHz 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor, accompanied by 4GB RAM and PowerVR G6430 GPU. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, customized with ZenUI, making the device more personalizable and secure.
Camera and storage
The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 comes with an 8.0MP auto focus camera with PixelMaster technology, which according to company captures 400% more light at night without using any flash. It also features a 5MP front camera. The tablet houses 64GB of built-in memory which can be expanded further upto 128GB using a microSD card.
Connectivity and battery
The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 features a range of connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Miracast support, USB Type-C, GPS etc. It can deliver 8 hours of battery life on moderate usage thanks to the 4,000mAh Lithium Polymer non-removable battery.
