Beetel GD218

I got this mob 3 days ago, since camera phone are not allowed in my office i had to go for this. I am happy (so far) and content to have bought this. Got it in 3 working daysnFirst of all a big hats off to the Flipkart guys, i cud not imagine any better online service provider than these people. I was astonished by the way they pack things no matter wats the cost of the productnnAbout the phone:n• Boy the call quality is just like landline phones (beetel is a leading landline phone manufacturer) n• The Signal strength is just awesome and i wud have attended atleast 30 to 40 call till now and not even a single call was dropping signal (even my previous Sony Ericson and Motorola phone cudn't deliver such call and signal quality) may b that’s the USP of this phone (for the matter it shud be the usp for any phones, but seldom manufacturers concentrate on this).n• The call sound quality is loud and clear (better keep the ear piece volume down) no interruptions whatsoever - even tried in low signal strength areas, works perfectly finen• Its dual standby so only 1 sim will work at a time (i think v cant get dual active phone less than 4k)n• It looks very very neat and decent.n• No hot swap, need to remove the battery to change SIM cards and the memory card.n• I think the battery is doing gud - and i am yet to charge my mobile since (3days of 30 - 40 calls, messages some nominal browsing along with night long first day experiments with the phone) my purchase of this mobile thanks to the bulky 1800mah battery. (even some costly smart phone are stingy in this matter and normally comes only with 1200mah - 1600mah battery)n• I have put a 4 gb card and it plays all the music and video (3gp format) that i used in my previous Sony Ericson mobile (cedar). The FM quality was also very decent (but i don think its a stereo FM)n• a very decent screen and the operating system is as user friendly as a nokia phone,n• The gprs facility works well (i was able to use facebook, gmail, yahoo mails, google search yahoo cricket and cricinfo) but don’t expect great browsing interface - it just works.n• The sounds from the Speakers are gud, but the provided headphone (NO 3.5mm Jack) sound quality is like from a cheap MP3 player. None the less it plays.n• Built in 500 phonebook entries and 200 sms capacityn• Can be connected to computer to transfer files directly into the memory card using the commonly available Mini-B USB cable (not provided)n• Messaging is not so friendly.n• Allows MP3 Ringtones and msg tones. However for me the big letdown is the Vibration (it has vibration facility), i can’t feel the vibration at all its too mild (Flipkart - pls let me know whether this is a manufacturing defect), but the ring tone volume is very high and clear so this shud help.nOverall it is definitely worth 1000 bucks and for my requirement (gprs, expandable memory and call quality) wise i can’t find better phone than this either in the Nokia or samsung models where one or the other feature is missing. May b i will not buy another phone for the next one year (i strongly believe this will last for more than a year).nnI will give it 5 stars for sure, and may b for the vibration i might deduct half a point.nIf you are looking for a more than handy second phone- Go for it.....

Review about Flipkart: Excellent delivery. Within stipulated time. Best as always. Review about Beetel GD218: Please do not buy this phone. If u wanna throw away some money, donate the amount to a charity. U will not be beating ur head. Another option is to spend 300rs. extra and buy Nokia 101 dual sim phone. It has exactly the same specifications. But this shitty Beetel product does give you echo problem FREE with every mobile phone. People sitting near you are able to hear the voice on other end more clearly and loudly than yourself. Wondering how could i take such a stupid decision to buy this crap!! :-( PLEASE DONT BUY ANY BEETEL PHONE AS FLIPKART EXECUTIVE HIMSELF SAID THAT ALL BEETEL MODELA HAVE SAME KIND OF PROBLEM(NOKIA'S 1 MODEL ALSO HAS THIS PROBLEM, AS TOLD BY FLIPKART TECHNICAL EXECUTIVE).
