The Alienware M17X comes with a 2.7GHz Intel i7 Second Gen processor. This is coupled with the extremely powerful Nvidia 580M GPU which runs almost every game that is available extremely smoothly. The device comes with 8Gb of RAM which is more than sufficient to run almost every software that is on the market today, but if that seems less to some users, there is a provision to expand it by 8GB more to a whopping 16GB.
Storage is managed by a 750GB Hard disc drive running at 7200 RPM, thus giving very high read write speeds. Windows home premium 64 bit is preinstalled.
Connectivity, Multimedia and Battery
The device comes with a horde of connectivity options such as Ethernet, 2 USB 3.0 Ports, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth and the most discerning feature of this laptop is that it also features a Blu Ray read write combo drive. Thus you can also enjoy Blu Ray movies with the 5.1 surround sound and Full HD display.
Powering all this is no easy task and Alienware has put in a 9 Cell Li-Ion Battery to keep it up and running. In spite of this, don't expect it to run more than 3 hours on battery If you decide to lug its 4.1 Kg bulk.
