For the price and Dell brand, this tab is better than Micromax and other Indian brands in terms of build quality and after purchase service if anything goes wrong.nHowever, note that this is the most basic tablet so expecting blazing fast performance would be a mistake. Things would have been better if Dell had kept 2 GB RAM, similar to its predecessor. nThe good:n- IPS display: although the pixel density is just 216ppi. It offers great viewing angles, so you can watch videos with your friends without struggling to get the front-row-center seat !neBook reader apps work well and you wont notice pixelation of characters.n- Can play 720p videos : I watched Sherlock Holmes series in HD (using VLC player) and it played without hiccups. Youtube also works smoothly. But here are certain conditions to meet (Read section : The Bad)n- Battery Backup : So far, excellent. An hour of video playing reduced only about 10 percent of backup. Surfing through web also didnt drain it so bad as its predecessor.n- Audio : Better than the predecessor, still miles away from the likes of ipad and others. You can watch videos and listen clearly only in a quiet room. nnThe Bad : n- RAM : You have to keep a watch on apps running in the background since it can slow down performance in some rare cases. Dont understand why Dell removed 1 GB from it, they could have had a winner. Haven't played games yet but going by 1 GB RAM phones, it can be bad. n- mkv format files wont play properly. Forget 1080p .mkv format videos. mp4 play well enough.n-Stutters very badly when downloading updates.n- App initialization: return from office, tap on facebook and go make a cup of coffee, the tab struggles to initialize some apps when opened after a long time. Once initialized, they are ok.n- Image heavy webpages will slow down performance significantly. Stuttering and hanging browser is absolute crap.n- Physical Keys Placement : Does not go well with folio cover as the keys are placed on the left side. Absolutely brainless.n- Google skymap doesn't work, Cisco webex app crashes after sometime n- Wifi range is comparable with tabs in this league. Light years behind iPad or even high end Lenovo/Samsung tabsnnTo Summarise:nTaking off one more star since it is turning out to be a headache browsing content heavy sites and app initialization time. Use this strictly as a secondary device only forn- Extremely light browsingn- YouTube (the only app that works best)n- 480p or some 720p videosn- e-Readersn- Booking e-tickets using appsn- Searching and ordering food and other things
