Display and Design
The Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook is bound to grab your attention from the very start. An intriguing body made of aluminium with a carbon fibre base is not only appealing but resilient as well. The base is lighter and cooler than its counterparts. It is bound to leave the user gasping with its ultra light (1.36kg) and extremely slender (18mm thickness) profile.
The 13.3-inch HD WLED backlit display flaunts a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels which is not as sharp as the display in other gadgets of the same range.
Processor and OS
The Ultrabook is driven by a mighty 2nd generation 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 processor loaded on the HM65 Express chipset and ready to deal with any kind of task at ease. The CPU draws support from a standard 4GB DDR3 RAM which can be expanded up to 8GB in case you expect better performance.
The lack of any external graphics support in such an expensive laptop is a bit disappointing. It features Intel HD 3000 GPU. The laptop runs 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium OS.
Camera and Storage
A 1.3MP webcam combined with a digital microphone gives the users of Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook the scope to enjoy high resolution and noise free video calls. For storage purposes, it houses a 256GB SSD memory which gives ultra fast response.
The laptop's gesture supported touchpad and a backlit keyboard gives you comfortable computing experience even in the dark.
Battery and Connectivity
Despite possessing a 6 cell Li-ion battery, it gives an uninterrupted service for up to 3 hours. The connectivity features are Ethernet port, Bluetooth v4.0, WLAN, 2 USB 3.0 slots, digital media reader, VGA port, one PowerShare port and one mini Display Port.
