Tom Brady not being able to find his jersey during the jersey swap scene is a reference to Brady's jersey actually being stolen after Super Bowl LI. That jersey, along with another one lost after Super Bowl XLIX, was found during a raid by Mexico's federal police and the FBI at the home of La Prensa (Hondurian newspaper) director Mauricio Ortega on March 12, 2017. Ortega resigned two days later for "personal reasons."
Of the four female leads, Sally Field is the only one younger than 80 at the time of filming.
Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are good friends. Aside from both starring in the film 9 to 5 (1980), they also star in the Netflix show Grace and Frankie (2015) for its entire seven season run.
As of this movie's release, the four female leads have twelve Oscar nominations and five wins between them, Lily Tomlin the only one who has not won although having been nominated. Of those twelve nominations, they only competed against each other once for an Oscar in 1980 when Sally Field and Jane Fonda were in the running for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Field victorious in that instance.
Tom Brady announced his retirement from the NFL (for the second time, the first time he having shortly thereafter changing his mind) a few days before the film's release.
"Maura: [during poker] Shut it, Brisket."
"Brisket: [indicating Maura] She nicknamed me brisket!"
