TRIVIA

Trivia

Clint Eastwood was not originally going to act in the movie. Kevin Costner talked him into it.

Producer and director Clint Eastwood originally intended to give the role of Butch to Denzel Washington.

One of Clint Eastwood's favorite movies that he has directed.

At one point during shooting, star Kevin Costner stormed off the set in a huff, but instead of waiting for him to return, director Clint Eastwood just continued to shoot the scene using Costner's stand-in, Mark Thomason. When Costner later returned to the set, shocked to discover that they just continued the scene regardless, Eastwood allegedly told him: "If you walk off, I'll shoot close-ups of this double. You watch. This guy'll play the whole movie. I'm not here to jerk off. Everything." After that incident, Costner did not leave the set during shooting again.

Despite the fact that this movie had moderate box office in the U.S., it did earn well over $100 million in international markets.
