TRIVIA

Trivia

According to the book 'New Zealand Film' by Helen Martin and Sam Edwards, "The source novel [of this film] was written in New Zealand but is a European story. Some crew were from France although the film is a New Zealand production. The French locations made it a complex production task. The film, made in 1988, was to have been a co-production [between France and New Zealand], but the French pulled out. This, combined with the bankruptcy of a contracted U.S. distributor who failed to pay a big advance, helped send the [production company of this film,] Mirage Entertainment Corporation into receivership."

The film utilizes an oft-used storyline of the war movie genre which has two soldiers in love with the same girl.

This film's opening preamble states: "Normandy July 1944."

This New Zealand movie filmed in France did not get a major theatrical cinema release in New Zealand though the film did screen at some festivals.

Was originally to have been distributed by Atlantic Releasing in the United States, but Atlantic closed its doors before they could release it. It ended up being acquired by Overseas FilmGroup.
