Official submission of Poland for the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category of the 89th Academy Awards in 2017.
Final film directed by Andrzej Wajda.
The paintings featured as the works by Wladyslaw Strzeminski's students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, created by Jakub Stepien, follow i.a. the art of Artur Nacht-Samborski ("Leaves in a White Vase on a Table", c. 1970, National Museum in Warsaw) and Jan Cybis ("Still Life", 1971, National Museum in Warsaw).
The movie was selected to the 13th Edition of Dubai International Film Festival, December 2016.
"Wladyslaw Strzeminski: They praise the ones who suck up. They're silent about the real artists. Julian Przybos: I spoke about this with Milosz. He also believes that an artist who can't speak with a full voice should be silent. Artists can be killed in two ways: either by talking about them too much or not at all."
