Je Mun-jae, a reclusive novelist, discovers his life has been stolen by a mysterious figure known as 'The Rat'. With his identity, fortune, and name gone, he is unable to prove his own existence. To reclaim what was his, he is forced to team up with No-ja, a persistent loan shark who has been tracking him for an unpaid debt. Together, they embark on a dangerous manhunt to uncover the truth behind the identity theft and the deep conspiracy that lies beneath it.

The story is also inspired by a traditional Korean folktale about a rat that assumes a human form by consuming human fingernails.
