Alpha Males is the unusual tale of four middle-aged friends who are struggling to make it in a world fun of empowered women. They are stuck in open marriages, messy divorces, sexless relationships, and unemployment. Despite the absurd plot, the show indeed is well-written and very witty. In fact, the best part is how all 10 episodes are sensitive towards gender bias and beautifully handle the topic without trivialising it too much. It offers a unique take on how patriarchy actually damages those it aims to help most. It shows how the men in the story are powerless in front of empowered and forward-thinking women in their life. The show has its fair share of hilarious moments, as you are made to feel for these man stuck in these times. While the show is definitely politically correct and sensitive, it is probably too self-correcting and thus boring in certain instances.
