Chandan Roy who plays the role of Sahayak was earlier selected for a small tertiary character role. And he wasn't confirmed on even that role. Raghubir Yadav had worked with him earlier and requested the director to have a look at his audition. The writer and the director liked him so much that they decided to cast him as a primary character. This is Chandan's debut show.
The show is Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra who is a celebrated TVF actor. For an electrician's role in Episode 3, when the actor who arrived on set wasn't good enough, he quickly dressed in his costumes and became the electrician.
Most of the government locations used are real locations where the show was shot after permissions which took months to come. The show has been shot in a real Panchayat office. And Pradhan's house is an actual Village Pradhan's house.
Producer Faisal Malik who plays Prahlad wasn't keen on returning to acting. But the Writer and the Director who were a fan of his cameo in 'Gangs of Wasserypur' kept at it and convinced him for the role.
Finding the right location for the Panchayat office as noted in the script was really tricky. After an intensive recce of more than two weeks and 300 villages, the perfect village was found. But the perfect village was inaccessible for a shooting crew. The production had to build several roads in the village to make the shooting location accessible.
