Anil Kapoor agreed to do the film after seeing the original Telegu version directed by K. Bhagyaraj. When he signed the film the vulgar lyrics the songs had not been written. Then Aankhen released and became a block buster. Then Choli Ke Peeche became a rage. Pahlaj Nihalani cashed in on the new trend. When the song Khada Hain was recorded,Anil was present.Upon hearing the lyrics he had a chuckle but told Pahlaj to remove them. He told Pahlaj that the lyrics were all in bad taste. Anil then told Pahlaj he would not do any vulgar dance movements like Raja Babu. Pahlaj agreed and that was the reason the censor board passed the song with out any cuts.
Govinda was upset that Pahlaj signed Anil Kapoor for the film. Govinda felt Pahlaj should have signed him for the film since they were a hit pair.
Juhi Chawla stated she was uncomfortable doing the film. She did not like the vulgarity in the film. She only signed it because of David Dhawan.
Anil was hesitant to sign the film. He had a good relationship with David Dhawan, but did not believe in the film. He finally agreed because he needed to make back the money lost in Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja.
