Anil Thadani, a distributor, told Sandeep Reddy Vanga that instead of 6 shows a day in a multiplex, the film might get only 4 a day because of its length. Vanga was fine with it, stating if he cut the film's length, cinemas would be empty by 3rd day.
The song "Sari Duniya Jala Denge" by B.Praak was sampled from the traditional song " Bhage Vich Aaya Karo".
Ranbir Kapoor's look and story with Anil Kapoor in Animal is inspired from Sanjay Dutt and his story with Kabir Bedi in Feroz Khan's Yalgaar. A son's obsession to gain his father's acceptance and love, and in the process turns into a animal like killer.
During a promotional event in Delhi, Ranbir Kapoor admitted to having seen a 229 minutes long version of the film, which he claimed was also entertaining, further adding that Sandeep Reddy Vanga worked really hard to bring the length down because one cannot stretch that much. Kapoor hoped the audience won't panic by the length and just come experience cinema at its best.
Ranbir Kapoor played Boney Kapoor's Son in his last movie Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar and now he is playing the son of Anil Kpoor in Animal. Boney and Anil Kapoor are Brothers.
