At the Bridgetown Film Festival in Barbados the Anderson's Cross filmmakers were sat near the exit with guards during their screening. Festival organizers were concerned about the possible reaction of the audience, due to some of the gay elements in the film. They needn't have worried, the audience cheered when the gay characters kissed and the film went on to win 'Best International Feature' at the festival.
