Canadian fans expressed their dislike towards the US promotional poster, which featured a retouched version of Amybeth McNulty. Her eyes and her teeth were made a little bit brighter to stand out more, the amount of freckles have been reduced, her hair was slightly redone and the shadows under her eyes were removed. When photographer Caitlin Cronenberg, who took the original portrait, noticed the altered image, she wrote on her Facebook page "As the person who took this photo, I'm pretty surprised to see this. Completely unnecessary to do anything to the spectacular and captivating Amybeth."
Cancelled after 3rd season because of the Netflix and CBC breakup despite being successful and high ratings. Fans of the show launched a campaign on Twitter to get Netflix to renew the series. The hashtag #RenewAnnewithanE has been used over one million times since the show's cancellation. Producers tried to make a 4th season with another network or make a movie for ending but they weren't be able to do so.
Phrases carved in branches in the opening credits are "A perfect graveyard of buried hopes"; "Will you swear to be my friend forever and ever?"; "Big ideas you need big words to express"; "To sleep in a tree in the moonshine"; "Anne with an 'E'". All of these phrases are quotes from the series of books based on "Anne of Green Gables".
