In creating the Wendigo beast, weight was a big concern. Shane Mahan says, "He fights [Keri Russell] and he eats a bear and he's killing people and it can't be a big, heavy thing that can't move." Mahan details how the artists at Legacy operated the Wendigo creature. "Basically the performer's arms come out and are attached to the [Wendigo's] arms. They'll be digitally removed and there'll be digital removal of the [performer's] legs."

But one day, the little bear came home, and Big Bear and Baby Bear were different. Big Bear got sick and his insides turned black.
