Director Bret McCormick said when they were filming a scene where a hitman was supposed to fire a warning flare, his effects guy warned him repeatedly not to do it because they were in remote farm country, the wind was blowing, and everything was very dry. McCormick needed the shot, so he did it anyway. They ended up burning about two and a half acres before the fire department arrived.
