Alain Chabat, who co-wrote and co-directed the series and voiced Asterix in the original dubbing, also wrote and directed Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra (2002), another adaptation (live action that time) of an Asterix comic by Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. He also played Julius Caesar in that movie.
