TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The leather jacket that Greg Kinnear wears while playing Bob Crane in the Hogan's Heroes (1965) scenes of this movie is the one that Crane actually wore during the shoot of that TV series. Crane's son Robert David Crane loaned the jacket to Kinnear for this movie. Prior to the original "Hogan's Heroes" show, this jacket was worn by Frank Sinatra in Von Ryan's Express (1965).

The bald actor who plays a reporter interviewing Crane about midway through the film is Crane's real son, Bob Crane Jr. (Robert David Crane).

The LED watch that Carpenter uses to entice women throughout the movie is inspired by an actual watch sold in the back of pornographic magazines in the 1970s-80s. Offered by a company named Leisure Time Products, the watch was gold toned with a black faux-lizard skin band; unlike the watch in the film, it was analogue, and its' face was emblazoned with the phrase "TIME TO FUCK," which would illuminate red every thirty seconds. The watch retailed for the modern equivalent of ~$150.

The stripper names on the marquee of Salome's strip club are female variations of Frank Sinatra (Fran Sinatra), Dean Martin (Deana Martin) and Jerry Lewis (Jeri Lewis).

Blue-eyed actors Willem Dafoe and Greg Kinnear share in their DVD/Blu-Ray commentary track that they both wore brown contact lenses for their roles. According to Dafoe, he wore them to look part Native American, while Kinnear did so to look more like Bob Crane. Kinnear adds that he needed to start wearing his a week before shooting began, so that he would get used to them enough to not be distracted while performing.
