The 2017 sequel ("Axeman 2: Overkill") was followed by a 2020 third entry, originally titled "Axeman: Redux," leading to confusion given the same initial "Cutters Creek" title of the 2013 version and the same cast (many of whom were, naturally, killed off). The director for all three films explained that the original was rushed, and the last entry was an attempt to correct the record by re-editing, and also by adding new footage.
