In an interview, John Abraham revealed that when he met the cop Sanjeev Kumar, whose role he plays in the film, he asked him if he had ever broken down over the years, after the incident happened. He was left startled when he replied that he wanted to kill himself.

During a meeting, Sanjeev Kumar's wife Shobhna told John Abraham that her husband doesn't speak for more than five minutes. This line was used in the film.

Director Nikkhil Advani revealed that following the orders of the Delhi High Court, he had to beep out a few words and add a disclaimer in the court scene. He said the edits he had been asked to make in the film were heartbreaking.

John Abraham read the Quran in order to have a point of view and also because he felt that while talking to a certain character, one needs to understand its thought process.

Prior to the film's release, Maya Sharma, the widow of Mohan Chand Sharma, refused to watch the film as she felt it portrayed incorrect facts and figures.
