TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Made its theatrical debut over 2 years after comedian Robin Harris's death.

Robin's license plate as the parking lot cop approaches Robin includes the letters BWS. Those letters stand for Bruce W. Smith, the director of this movie.

The first ever fully-animated film to be rated PG-13 by the MPAA upon its original release. Cool World (1992), released three weeks before Bebe's Kids (1992), was also rated PG-13, but it was a live action/animation hybrid movie. The Plague Dogs (1982) was originally rated PG upon its release, but the MPAA later re-rated it PG-13 after the introduction of the rating in 1984.

Some versions of the film's theatrical trailer contain audio problems for the last few seconds, which actually cuts off the last couple words of the tagline that the announcer says. The original tagline is, "It's animation, with an attitude." However, the trailer with audio problems makes it seem like the announcer only says, "It's animation--"

In the scene in the ladies room, Robin says, "Look who's with here. Old Vivian, with them old skippies with the broke-down back. Gimme a break!" Nell Carter, the voice of Vivian, was the star of the television series Gimme a Break! (1981).

Robin Harris: Your mama's so dumb, they told her it was chilly outside, she went inside and got a bowl. Robin Harris: Come on, baby. Let's get out of here. Jamika: I think it's time to flush and leave. Dorothea: You can have him. I don't have a problem getting a man. Jamika: Well, girlfriend. Here's some lotion for your ashy ankles. That'll make it even easier. Dorothea: That's okay. Your mama's so country, she got an elevator, thought it was a mobile home. Vivian: You know what that was all about, right? He still loves you."
