TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

James Woods was cast in the role of Oscar, but dropped out.

This movie was based upon Pascal Bruckner's 1981 novel "Lunes de fiel" - a pun on "Lune de miel", the French word for "honeymoon". "Lunes de fiel" literally means "bile moons".

One of numerous collaborations of husband and wife, director Roman Polanski and Emmanuelle Seigner.

In later interviews, Emmanuelle Seigner admitted that making this movie was probably a mistake.

Filmed in part aboard the M.T.S. Odysseus, a cruise ship of Greece's Epirotiki Line. First launched in 1961 as the Princesa Isabel, Odysseus ended her career as the Lucky Star, a casino ship based out of Singapore. She was scrapped in Alang, India in April 2008, sixteen years after her appearance in this movie.

Popular Dialogues

"Oscar: What happened to your dance classes? Mimi: Dancing has to come from the heart. Oscar: So? Mimi: My heart is broken."

"Oscar: Have you ever truly idolized a woman? Nothing can be obscene in such love. Everything that occurs in between it becomes a sacrament."
