The Salman Khan Juhi Chawla war started with this film. Salman had already signed the film. Juhi Chawla was going to meet the films writer so she could sign the second lead's role. But by then the director had already signed another actress opposite Salman. This is when Salman felt Juhi refused the film because she did not want to work with a unknown newcomer.
