The film was a short film that was converted into a full length film.
The film is often confused with the B Grade movie " Lateef - The King of Crime". This is due to both having the same title.
It was a short film which Nawaz shot way back in 2005. When GoW2 released the producers of the short film decided to cash in and made the title in ''Gangs of Gardulley". They converted the short film into a full length feature by adding extra scenes and new characters. Then they asked Nawaz to come in to promote the film. Nawaz's elder brother went to court and made them stop the release They then later released it as "Lateef".
The film did not have a theatrical release in British Columbia, Canada.
