TRIVIA

Trivia

Took the director Kevin Triplett 12 years to complete. [From the film's producer: There were several reasons for this: it was the director's first full-length movie, the team interviewed over 125 people to uncover as much of the story as possible (Blaze had many groups of friends and led a compartmentalized life), the editing computer was stolen half-way through the project, a fire took out some of the editing equipment and even a projector mishap right before the film's premiere at SXSW in 2009 caused the screening to be canceled.]

In the 1990s, filmmaker Kevin Triplett got his hands on a demo of Foley's music. This was the beginning of his fascination with fellow Texan Foley, and he took the next 12 years to make this unique documentary about him.

In 1989, singer-songwriter Blaze Foley ( born Michael David Fuller - Dec 18, 1949 - Feb 1, 1989) met an unfortunate end at only 39 years old. He had lived a turbulent life, filled with sufficient amounts of alcohol and drama to provide material for his songs. And Foley did just that, writing and performing songs and even achieving some level of success, but the big break never came.
