Three of Reema Borah's characters are referred to as Bokul in the strange setting he transports us to. An elderly guy who relies on fishing for a living after his sole son abandoned him 12 years ago, a young person who pulls rickshaws despite having completed his higher secondary education, and a single mother who refuses to identify the father of her child. They are all struggling with life. Raktim, who serves as the main character, introduces us to these individuals. Raktim works and resides in Bombay. We never see his sister because her role in the story didn't require her to be on film, but he returned to Assam for her sister's wedding. Bokul by Reema Borah is a superbly written and directed film. The cinematography has a Mani Kaulesque vibe to it. Reema actually pays tribute to Mani Kaul in this movie. The film definitely deserves to be watched.
