This movie has a lot in common with "Deewana", which was released a week later. Both were blockbusters at the box office. They both star Rishi Kapoor and in both his mother is played by Sushma Seth. Other actors who also appeared in both movies include Alok Nath and Mohnish Bahl. In both movies Bahl plays the evil son of a trusted employee of the hero's family.
