The filming ended on 10 December 2011 in 74 working days, one of the shortest periods in which a Telugu film has been shot.
The film received an A (adults only) rating more due the dialogues than the violence.
The film's UK title is "Businessman - Guns Don't Need Agreements".
A sequel to the film was announced, only to be shelved later on. It was planned as a bilingual film to be shot in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously.
The makers violated the rules of The Cinematograph Act, 1952 and the Central Board of Film Certification regarding the re-working of its title from "The Businessman" to "Businessman" after the board cleared the film with the former title.
"Vijay Surya: I did not come here to settle here slowly. I came here to shake Mumbai."
"Vijay Surya: We all watch Discovery channel. A tiger chases a deer. By seeing the visuals, everyone prays to God that the deer should escape. When the deer escapes, everyone claps with joy and switch off the TV. They will butcher the chicken and enjoy it. They don't have any pity either on deer or chicken. Because they can't do anything to the tiger, that's why they say pity or humanity. They are all humans, that's why they talk about humanity."
