TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Susan Blakely's nude open crotch shot is reportedly one of the first instances of such a thing for a leading actress in a mainstream Hollywood film. It wouldn't be so graphically repeated until Sharon Stone's notorious scene in Basic Instinct (1992) 17 years later.

No mention is made in the film of Capone's wife and children. Whilst the gangster did have several mistresses, he made a point of maintaining a façade of being a decent family man.

Al Capone got the scar on his left cheek from a knife wound in the Harvard Inn on Coney Island in 1917 over an argument regarding a young lady which he made a comment to. Her brother Frank Gallucio was offended by Capone's remark made to his sister Lena, and demanded an apology.. the end result was Al Capone was slashed three times by Gallucio with a knife thus cutting his face.

Ben Gazzara had dental appliances made to push out his cheeks.

Writer Howard Browne also wrote The St. Valentine's Day Massacre (1967) (another Capone film) for Roger Corman in 1967. Indeed, footage from that film is recycled here.

Popular Dialogues
