The series follows Yaniko, a catgirl living in a small apartment in modern-day Japan who is addicted to smoking. Her addiction affects her environment, psyche, and family. Almost all the money she acquires goes towards buying new cigarettes, and when she cannot afford them, Yaniko resorts to reusing spent cigarette butts or salvaging discarded smokes off the street. The story introduces more catgirls with their own issues, along with their human landlord who tolerates their antics.
