    Cookie Voltecki (Emily Lloyd) is the illegitimate daughter of mobster Dino Capisco (Peter Falk), who has just finished thirteen years in prison. Since being released from jail, all that Dino wants is to settle some old scores, and make up for lost time with his daughter. Cookie's mother, Lenore Voltecki (Dianne Weist), has been Dino's longtime mistress. Dino's actual wife Bunny (Brenda Vaccaro) has, he thinks, been kept in the dark about Dino's mistress and his daughter. Dino decides that the best way to get to know Cookie is to hire her as his chauffeur. With her ears to the conspiracies floating around Dino, she quickly discovers that her father's old crony, Carmine (Michael V. Gazzo), has been swindling him and that Dino's life is in jeopardy.

STORY

Story
Cookie Voltecki (Emily Lloyd) is the illegitimate daughter of mobster Dino Capisco (Peter Falk), who has just finished thirteen years in prison. Since being released from jail, all that Dino wants is to settle some old scores, and make up for lost time with his daughter. Cookie's mother, Lenore Voltecki (Dianne Weist), has been Dino's longtime mistress. Dino's actual wife Bunny (Brenda Vaccaro) has, he thinks, been kept in the dark about Dino's mistress and his daughter. Lenore's apartment scenes were filmed in Sunnyside, NY. The apartment was converted from a existing dental office. The dentist was paid a hefty price for the use of his office for a one month period. When the filming was over the distraught dentist claimed damages and said it wasn't worth the price to close his practice for the filming.

The car explosion scene was filmed on Renfrew Avenue in Elmont,New York adjacent to Elmont Junior High School. Curious students lined the area and were held back by crew and security as Brenda Vaccaro signed autographs to the masses.

This movie was filmed in multiple locations. Atlantic City, NJ, Long Island City, Sunnyside and Elmont,NY.

At one point, Falk's character is called "Dapper Dino". This is a reference to John Gotti, aka the "Dapper Don", who was head of the Gambino crime family in New York City at the time of this film.
