Derek Savage was bullied during his school years. Cool Cat was his imaginary friend.
The film gained a bit of a cult following because of YouTube film reviewers such as "YourMovieSucks" and "I Hate Everything."
In 2015, numerous YouTubers posted negative reviews of this film. Derek Savage had almost all of them removed, claiming they violated copyright, though his announcement video contradicted that. The Youtubers fought back, and each review was put back up. Ironically, Savage bullied numerous people because he disagreed with their review of his anti-bullying film.
In the book series, Cool Cat's parents are a mother and father cat. In the movie, Cool Cat's father is replaced with 'Daddy Derek', played by producer Derek Savage.
This film consists of material from three earlier videos, Cool Cat Stops Bullying (2012), Cool Cat in the Hollywood Christmas Parade (2012), and Cool Cat Finds a Gun (2013), tied together with some new material.
"Erik: Wow Vivica, it's such a beautiful day! Vivica: Sure is Erik! And where is Cool Cat? Erik: THERE HE IS!"
"Erik: That kid kicked sand in Cool Cat's face!"
