  Linda da Silva has always fought to give her two children, Guga and Verónica, a dignified life while facing a marriage marked by domestic violence. For years, she endured hell in silence, trying to protect her children, until the day she realizes that continuing in that marriage is a condemnation for everyone. When she reports her husband, her life intersects with João, a righteous and passionate policeman who becomes her great support and the love of her life. But her destiny collapses again when Guga, in a desperate act to save her from another assault, ends up killing his father and is arrested. Linda then lives with only one goal: to free her son from prison. It is in this context that Bento Soler Toledo appears, a powerful millionaire who, pressured by his father, finds himself involved in a dispute for power and legacy. When Bento meets Linda, he sees in her not only a woman different from all the others, but also the piece that can help him gain the patriarch's trust. Bento then makes an absurd but irresistible proposal: marry him in exchange for his son's freedom. Desperate and without alternatives, Linda ends up accepting, sacrificing her love for João and entering an empire of luxury and manipulation where nothing is truly free.
