Adolf Hitler is seen constantly eating sweets and, although very common at the time, none of his generals or ministers are seen smoking. This is a quite accurate depiction, as Hitler did have a sweet tooth. He also hated smoking, and did not permit anyone to do so in his presence.
Sir Ian McKellen, who played Adolf Hitler in this movie, played a Nazi in Apt Pupil (1999), and holocaust victim Erik Lehnsherr, a.k.a. Magneto, in the X-Men film franchise.
