The movie was filmed circa 2009 in British Columbia Canada on an island there. In 2015, the History Channel used a similar British Columbia setting (Vancouver Island) and premise for the first two seasons of the show Alone (2015).
One of the sub plots is Andrea Roth's character Teresa trying to get pregnant. In March 2010 Roth gave birth to her first child at age 42, meaning she would have conceived circa June 2009. The movie was made sometime in 2009 and not released until April 2010, so Roth was either pregnant when it was being filmed or shortly thereafter.
Gabrielle Rose, who plays Teresa's mother, is only 13 years older than Andrea Roth.
Females in jeopardy: In a change up from the usual Lifetime plot of waiting until the end, Teresa and Christy are threatened by a bear at about 53 minutes into the movie, and all three family members are threatened at about 1:14 in.
