In the beginning of the movie, Pebbles mentions successful music groups, including The Supremes. Evan Ross, who played Dallas Austin, is the son of Diana Ross, one of the founding members of The Supremes.

Dalvin and T-Boz dated for five years. In the video, "Love U 4 Life", T-Boz made a guest appearance as his love interest.

Between the albums CrazySexyCool & Fanmail, Left Eye had her eye brow pierced. She wore the piercing until her death but this is not shown in the film.

Andre Rison and Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes were on and off till her death.
